My Friend Has Cancer is an audio learning resource designed to highlight the power of friendship and personalised care. With insights from real people living with cancer, it’s perfect for sparking meaningful discussions in training sessions or for personal reflection.

Made for everyone, there is value in whether your work in healthcare, are a patient, carer, or member of the public.

My Friend Has Cancer is included in the new LEAP training package

GM Cancer Alliance has worked with patient representatives and Made by Mortals to produce the new Personalised Care Audio Story and training resource, My Friend Has Cancer.

The ‘My Friend Has Cancer’ PDF learning resource for healthcare staff includes:

  • Instructions on ways to use the learning resource
  • A captioned version of the ‘My Friend Has Cancer’ audio story
  • Four pieces of additional insight audio from people with lived experience
  • Discussion questions designed to facilitate group discussion around personalised care

This resource can be used as a training tool to spark thoughts and discussion around the topic, aiding you and/or your team’s personal and organisational development.

Everyone is welcome to listen to the ‘My Friend has Cancer’ audio story, or work through the leaning resource. Please note however that we often recommend that if you are a member of the healthcare workforce that the full training package is the most appropriate version of the resource.
