New Acute Oncology Service

Every hospital across Greater Manchester and East Cheshire has a nurse led acute oncology service offering specialist cancer care advice.

Acute oncology nurses are now supported daily (Mon – Fri) by a Christie Consultant Oncologist specialising in cancer emergencies which means quick and efficient advice and decision making is available for cancer patients.

If you or a member of your team are supporting a patient who presents with a new cancer diagnosis as part of an unplanned emergency admission, a complication of cancer treatment or a complication of the cancer itself, get in touch with your local acute oncology nursing team and ask them to discuss the patient with a Christie consultant oncologist.

This webpage features an animation and infographic to share across your department, details of acute oncology team at each Trust and education resources.
