Sotonye Tolofari
BSc(Hons), MBChB, PGME, FRCS(Urol)
Consultant Urological Surgeon
Sotonye, born in Leicestershire, studied Medicine at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2011. During his undergraduate career, he was awarded an intercalated 1st Class(Hons) Pathology BSc.
Over the subsequent decade he trained in General & Urological Surgery in the North West of England. He successfully completed the FRCS(Urol) examination and was awarded the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for outstanding performance in 2019. He has also received multiple academic awards from the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), Section of Endourology.
Sotonye’s specialist interests include the treatment of kidney cancer and upper tract urothelial cancer using open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He also specialises in prostate cancer diagnostics.
Sotonye currently practises as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Salford Care Organisation, Northern Care Alliance.
Sotonye was the Chairman of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Section of Trainees in 2020 and as such, sat on the Speciality Advisory Committee (SAC) for Urology.
Alex Riley
Alex is a Pathway Manager for Urology and Oesophago-Gastric Pathway Boards. Having found a passion for making improvements to a patient’s journey, Alex started working with Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance in Project Management delivering several improvement and pilot schemes before being successful for the position as a Pathway Manager.
Prior to working with Greater Manchester Cancer, Alex worked at Salford Royal for 10 years as an Operational Manager for surgical services including Bariatrics, Colorectal, Endocrine, General Surgery and Oesophago-Gastric. She developed a wide range of knowledge and experience in frontline management and was keen to work behind the scenes to ensure we are providing the best care for our patients during their journey with us.
