Top quality health apps to support residents across Greater Manchester to live well with and after cancer will now be available on a new, NHS-approved health app library. Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, part of the NHS, and ORCHA, the Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps, which reviews health apps for the NHS, have worked together on the new app library. The Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance has appointed a new Medical Director, Miss Susannah Penney. Susannah is a consultant head, neck and thyroid surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, a position she has held since 2012. A new campaign is being launched by the NHS in Greater Manchester to raise awareness of the link between heartburn, indigestion and gullet cancer. An Irlam lady is urging people in Salford to take up their free NHS lung health checks after her check-up saved her life. The NHS in Salford is offering free Lung Health Checks to past and current smokers aged 55 to 74 who are registered with a GP in the Eccles and Irlam areas.
