Father-of-three David Jones-Stanley, 51, has written a book about his experience of being diagnosed with stage 3 food pipe (oesophageal) cancer in October 2021. Operations director David, who lives in Wigan with his husband James and their three boys, was treated for oesophageal cancer at The Christie three years ago. “Don’t be scared to get checked” – new campaign dispels fears around breast cancer

A new series of mini films  - designed to help dispel fears about breast cancer and breast cancer screening – has been launched to support Black and South Asian women. Community leaders hope the four videos will increase the number of people from ethnic minorities who attend breast cancer screening. A Bolton manufacturing company director is urging everyone who gets invited to NHS lung cancer screening to make sure they attend – after he nearly missed his appointment which went on to show he had lung cancer. Ken Roberts is now doing well after his surgery. Nicola’s fundraising shines a light on breast cancer awareness after her own diagnosis

A contracts manager from NHS Greater Manchester has helped raise more than £5,300 for cancer charities following her own diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer. Nicola Harrison, a breast cancer fundraiser, who has raised more than £5,000 for cancer charities. Women from Greater Manchester star in a new campaign by the NHS to raise awareness about the importance of checking your breasts or chest.
