Each year the National Cancer Patient Experience survey (NCPES) allows patients aged 16 years and older to give feedback on the care they have received. The feedback helps the NHS to improve patient experience of existing cancer care services. Shannon raises over £2,400 to raise awareness of salivary gland cancer

Shannon an apprentice solicitor from Denton was diagnosed with a rare type of head and neck cancer last December. She had a lump just below her ear on her jaw which caused her jaw to lock and later jaw pain. After flagging the issue with her doctor and dentist, Shannon was initially treated with antibiotics for wisdom tooth pain and then referred to Manchester University Dental Hospital with a suspected jaw joint problem. NHS Talking Therapies continues to accept referrals to support people affected by cancer

Think Well with Cancer project is a pilot project in partnership between Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Talking Therapies Service and Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance. Father-of-three David Jones-Stanley, 51, has written a book about his experience of being diagnosed with stage 3 food pipe (oesophageal) cancer in October 2021. Operations director David, who lives in Wigan with his husband James and their three boys, was treated for oesophageal cancer at The Christie three years ago. A new series of mini films  - designed to help dispel fears about breast cancer and breast cancer screening – has been launched to support Black and South Asian women. A Bolton manufacturing company director is urging everyone who gets invited to NHS lung cancer screening to make sure they attend – after he nearly missed his appointment which went on to show he had lung cancer. Ken Roberts is now doing well after his surgery.
