Breast Cancer Awareness: Look and Feel Every Month

We're launching a new breast cancer awareness campaign encouraging people to “look and feel” monthly ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The campaign features women from the Greater Manchester area and encourages people to be vigilant and report any potential signs of breast cancer to their GP. The campaign is the result of work with five focus groups and aims to particularly talk to women just below breast cancer screening age (40-50) and those just above screening aged (71+) as well as to women from ethnic minorities. Breast screening campaign from NHS England

NHS England is launching a new phase of the ‘Help Us, Help You’ campaign to encourage women living in England to attend their breast screening appointment when invited. The campaign is targeting women aged between 50 and 71 as the NHS breast screening programme invites anyone registered with a GP as female aged from 50 up to their 71st birthday for NHS breast screening every 3 years. Every October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is marked worldwide to show support for everyone affected by breast cancer. We are expecting UK-based charities to lead public-facing awareness raising efforts and we want to support with relevant content, to add the NHS England voice with a call to action for all women to attend their breast screening appointments when invited. To support this, we will be using NHS channels to remind women about the importance of attending breast screening appointments when invited and encouraging healthcare professionals and services to promote key messages across their channels.
