Get Cancer Clever in the workplace
One in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, with 17,000 diagnoses in Greater Manchester in the last year.
It touches every workplace.
Take our pledge to become a Cancer Clever Employer for support with empowering employees to understand some of the signs and symptoms of cancer, and when to seek help, understanding the gap in workplace cancer support and practical steps to begin closing it.
Become a Cancer Clever Employer
As a Get Cancer Clever employer, we pledge to:
- Share the message. We will pass on cancer awareness information to all our staff at least once a quarter, using the ready-made materials provided.
- Named contact. We will identify someone in our organisation to lead our involvement and be our point of contact.
- Mark the moments. We will get behind key awareness campaigns across the year, and work with you to deliver campaigns.
- Tell us what works. We will share what we did, so we can learn together and help other employers do the same.
- Support staff. We will support our staff affected by cancer by signposting to locally available resources and services.
In return, Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance will give you:
- Clear, plain-English information on the signs and symptoms of cancer and cancer screening
- NHS approved digital content and staff messaging, ready to share delivered quarterly via a newsletter
- A Get Cancer Clever employer badge to show your commitment
- Access to our network of cancer clever employers to share best practice
- The opportunity to work with us on new campaigns for your employees.
