We’ve teamed up with Heartburn Cancer UK to bring a new Heartburn Health Roadshow to Greater Manchester for 10 days in October 2025. Pop along to get information about heartburn, indigestion and acid reflux and find out more about the potential early symptoms of oesophageal cancer to look out for.
Why should I visit the roadshow?
Oesophageal cancer is the 7th biggest cancer killer in the UK – the 4th biggest for men – despite being only the 14th most common. So it’s important to know about potential symptoms so you can get treatment if you need it.
Specially trained members of Heartburn Cancer UK will talk to you about persistent heartburn lasting three weeks or more and how you should check this out with your GP. There will be handy symptom spotter wallet cards to pick up to help you remember too as well as information leaflets.
The friendly team will also have information about a condition called Barrett’s oesophagus – a condition which is one of the earliest warning signs of oesophageal cancer. This is a risk factor that can be monitored and managed through ongoing tests, medication and lifestyle changes.
The roadshow is offering a drop in service open approximately 10:30am and 6pm. No appointment is necessary. The white mobile unit with red and orange fire on the side will be parked up in the car park near to the supermarket entrance. You can’t miss it! We hope to see you there. Please spread the word.
