2020 – 2021 Cancer Alliance Report published

29 July 2022

Today Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance publishes a two year report covering work that has taken place across our Alliance during 2020 and 2021.

The report considers some of the challenges and subsequent measures brought about during the pandemic, in addition to innovative and progressive projects across our cancer pathways to improve the outcomes and experiences of people affected by cancer in our region.

Professor Dave Shackley and Claire O’Rourke, Director and Managing Director of Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance respectively, said:

Whilst this time brought about huge change, our commitment and resolve across the cancer network in Greater Manchester has not changed – we are still determined to support more people than ever to reduce their risk of cancer, be diagnosed quicker and have the best experiences possible in terms of treatment, outcomes and overall experience.

We would like to thank all of our healthcare teams, researchers, user involvement representatives and patients for their dedication, commitment and cooperation to our cancer system through what has been a difficult few years for us all.

We have a clear strategy for 2022 to continue our mission and we hope you’ll join us as we work together for another 12 months.

The report was circulated to our Cancer Board, where it was approved on Monday 24 July 2022.
